Thanksgiving

Friday, November 21st, I took a trip down to Uncle Charles and Aunt Linda's house, down in Grant's Pass. I arrived back home on Sunday. The purpose of the trip was to get a bike and get a few rides in. Unfortunately, I had received and contracted a bad sore throat, a sinus infection, on my way down
to his place. This did not turn out that great because of the rides, but I decided that I could stand a sore throat to ride with uncle Charles. My Takara is a great bike.

This bike is amazing. Before, on my Montgomery Wards Omega, (The piece of junk bike) I could not stand up while riding, otherwise I would fall over, the tires were shot, the front derailleur failed on me (I would like some comments about derailleur management, as I found that my new bike now has a broken front derailleur as well. Anyway, the new bike's (And mine) features, from the top down:
  • I have had a helmet,
  • I now have a pair of riding glasses and a mirror,
  • A facemask, to keep my head warm,
  • A nice rainjacket,
  • An STP 2002 windjacket,
  • a blue jersey,
  • several pairs of riding shorts, and a pair of riding pants,
  • a set of panniers, a "trail rack" as it's called, which fits right over the top of the rear wheel
  • Brand new tires,
  • several repair tools,
  • a couple of water bottles,
  • a pair of winter gloves
  • a set of nice fenders, which look like a million bucks on my bike.
  • a little triangular shaped bag which fits on the horizontal and seat tubes of my bike. This holds all of the repair tools
  • The bike came with clip-in look-style pedals
  • And, with the money donated to me, a pair of brand spankin' new clip-in shoes.
I would like to give God thanks for all of this, and more. I know this sounds a little familiar, but God has given me a wonderful family. I am thankful for family and friends. I am also thankful for this year. This year as many of you know, my dad was in the Hospital for several months. My dad, at the age of 40, had to have open heart surgery for an enlarged heart, caused by a faulty aortic valve. My grandpa and I are both believing that Yahweh placed him in the hospital, as he went in with a mysterious hip infection, which to this day we know nothing about, except that it was an infection, and that it was in a certain location. I believe God placed his hand on my father's hip to make it hurt, so that we would have no choice but to go to the hospital. after they had found his hip infection, the hip problem went away on it's own. Many people believe that God does not do things to hurt people, but I disagree. I would like to show that I am truly thankful for the fact that he went into the hospital. The post, Living like a million bucks, is proof that I was thankful for life. I am thankful that God has shown me how the little thing in life, the glow of the summer sun, the soft beat of rain on my face, the gentle blow of wind, showed me that these things are not just the laws of nature, but they are simply and purely Yahweh being faithful to us. I believe that dad's hip infection was a miracle, a different way for God to do something. He survived through this year, and for that, I am truly thankful.

I have found a blog of much worth

As I was editing my blogger profile, I wrote down as one of my favorite books, Pilgrim's Progress, I decided to take a risk and click the link to find more bloggers with the same favorite. I stumbled upon this man's blog, and it is a blog worthy of noting, as you can see because I have taken the time of writing it down here. His name is Jacob Davis, of Louisville Kentucky.

He has much of the same worldview as I do, that I can see, and I decided to follow this blog, because it seems to have quite a wealth of value. He writes about Bible translations (One minor thing of opinion that I would disagree with, heh), but so far as I have read, I agree with him on many things, such as a more liturgical church, the Apostle's creed (one of the most important places of agreeance in my opinion), among others. Well worth the read.

NOT the Beginning of the End

Obama has been elected president.
Let that seep in.
Obama has been elected president.
Did it grip you that time?
Are you despairing? Are you wondering what you'll do? Are you worried?
Dont be. You should however be deeply troubled by the culture around you, however, and be always realizing that the gates of hell will not prevail against the door of the church.

1. Fret not thyself because of the wicked men, niether be envious for the evildoers.

[In the notes of the 1599 Geneva Bible: "He admonisheth us niether to vex ourselves for the prosperous state of the wicked, niether to desire to be like them to make our estate the better"]

2. For they shall be soon cut down like grass, and shall whither as the green herb.

3. Trust thou in the Lord and do good: dwell in the land, and thou shalt be fed assuredly:

4. And delight thyself in the Lord, and he shall give thee thine heart's desire

--Psalm 37:1-4

I
strongly recommend those of you who lose heart to read all of Psalm 37, and praise the Lord, for He is good, and he apoints all who rule over us.
I believe that Obama is a judgement on a perverse generation, and that we are to answer this judgement with a battle cry: not for revolution, but for letting our light shine by subitting to those in power: Jesus said to bless those who persecute you. That is part of where you start. The other, and most important part, however concerns the family, and teaching the family a worldview of order meauty morality, and Light. If you want to do something for Christ's kingdom, trust Him, and do what you're told (obey).
